“Hudour” Contactless Attendance Recording System
Fingerprint biometric attendance systems have been suspended in many countries as impacts of coronavirus considered. With the widespread of coronavirus among so many countries, businesses are being told to suspend contact-based biometric time and attendance systems to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
There are several ways in which an enterprise can implement a contactless attendance recording system. Here, we describe the easiest and the most cost-effective solution using QR reading technology.
Here’s how the solution works:
- The employee logs into the “attendance recording” mobile app using their mobile credentials which could be passcode, fingerprint, and facial recognition
- Employee selects CHECK IN or CHECK OUT
- A QR Code is generated on the selection which embeds the Employee ID.
- The employee scans the QR code on the QR reader installed on a tablet near the main entrance.
- Once the code is scanned successfully, the QR reader adds a new record into the attendance backend along with the timestamp.
- A Log is created and maintained in the tablet.
- The employee can see a historical log of attendance while HR can use the Dashboard for analysis and payroll.

Coronavirus Fever Detection through Thermal Camera
A Thermal Camera installed at an entrance of an enterprise, university, or public places like Airport or mosque is an innovative way to detect any person, employee, or student with an elevated temperature that could potentially be a symptom of Coronavirus. The FLIR A320 Temp screen Infrared Thermal Imaging Camera could be deployed for this purpose. This is a vital tool in the detection of elevated body temperatures and fevers in high-risk groups such as travelers, students, miners, factory and office workers
Here’s how the solution works:
- Individuals are remotely monitored as they pass a screening checkpoint set up at an airport, border, or in the entrance lobby to a corporation or school.
- Infrared camera operator looks at a color monitor that shows audible and/or visible color alarm when an individual shows an “out of norm” body temperature.
- Persons with an elevated body temperature are sent to a separate line for further screening by a healthcare professional or designate.

The FLIR A320 provides a visual map of skin temperatures in real-time, and due to its extremely high sensitivity, it can display temperature differences as small as 0.07 degrees Celsius. The built-in functions of the A320 Temp screen thermal infrared cameras include color images and temperature scales, and sound alarms that can be set to go off when a certain temperature threshold is exceeded. These functions make it easy for an operator to instantly decide whether the subject needs to be referred for a medical examination. The total evaluation period takes less than a second which makes it ideal for screening large groups of people.
